you’ll see this in their portfolios: ten “different” apps with the exact same folder structure, the same auth flow, even the same placeholder copy. it’s fast and cheap because it’s a copy-paste operation with your branding. the problem is, your startup isn’t a template. your differentiator is in the unique logic, the workflows, the integrations, the very things a templated vibe coder can’t build. you get a prototype that looks ready, but it’s fundamentally incapable of evolving into your real product. when you ask for a change, you hit a wall of “that’s out of scope” or the quote triples. the real cost isn’t the low upfront fee; it’s the total dead-end.
