THE PROBLEM
Your business does something specific, and the off-the-shelf product forces you to change how you work in order to use it. The workaround becomes the process, and the process becomes the constraint.
What we usually hear- Spreadsheets and manual steps holding together what the software cannot do
- Licence costs rising while the fit gets worse as you grow
- Data spread across tools that were never designed to talk to each other
- Nobody able to say confidently what the system actually does any more
HOW WE APPROACH IT
Engineering, not guesswork
We start by mapping how the work is done today — not how a process document says it is done. The gap between those two is usually where the real requirement lives.
Then we design the smallest system that removes the constraint, choosing technology your team can hire for and maintain. Custom does not mean exotic; it means shaped around you.
Delivery runs in short cycles so you use working software early and can change direction while it is still cheap.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
Deliverables
- Requirements and scope defined against measurable business outcomes
- Architecture documented with the reasoning behind each decision
- Tested, reviewed code delivered into your repositories
- Deployment pipeline and handover documentation
WHAT CHANGES
Business outcomes
- Software that matches your operating process instead of fighting it
- Manual steps and reconciliation work removed from the day
- One source of truth instead of several partial ones
- A system your own engineers can extend
TECHNOLOGY
What we typically build with
Selected against your constraints and your team's ability to maintain it — not against fashion.
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- Python
- React
- Next.js
- PostgreSQL
- Docker
- AWS
HOW WE DELIVER IT
The same five phases, every time
See the full twelve-stage process for what each phase produces.
Discovery
We map the business problem and define success in measurable terms.
Architecture
Technology and data decisions made against your constraints, documented with reasoning.
Design
Journeys and interfaces resolved on screen, including everything that goes wrong.
Engineering
Short cycles ending in working software, reviewed and tested before it merges.
Deploy & Scale
Automated release, monitoring in production, and support as usage grows.
QUESTIONS
About custom software development
Is custom always more expensive than buying?
Not over the lifetime, and not always up front. Licence fees for a poor fit compound, and so does the cost of the manual work filling the gaps. We will tell you honestly when buying is the better answer.
How long before we see something working?
You see working software at the end of every delivery cycle, not at the end of the project. The first usable version typically arrives well before full scope is complete.
What if our requirements change during the build?
They usually do. We reopen scope when evidence disagrees with the plan and tell you early what the change costs. Continuing to build something you have learned is wrong costs more.

Enterprise Systems
Systems that carry real operational load — role-based access, audit trails, integrations and the reliability an organisation depends on.
Product Engineering
A long-running team that owns discovery, delivery and iteration — for products that keep evolving after launch.
Business Process Automation
Replace the manual work your team repeats every week with systems that run themselves and report when they cannot.
